Isle of Capri Casinos

Isle of Capri Casinos, Inc. (NASDAQ ISLE), included in 1990 and headquartered in Biloxi, operates gambling casinos and connected activity and accommodation facilities in the U.S. and abroad. Isle of Capri was the first gaming association to trade on the NASDAQ. Most of its U.S. casinos purpose under the name 'Isle of Capri' and have a tropical [sic] island theme. They are located in Lake Charles and Bossier City, Louisiana; Lula, Biloxi, Vicksburg, and Natchez, Mississippi; Kansas City and Boonville, Missouri; Bettendorf, Davenport, and Marquette, Iowa; and Black Hawk, Colorado (57% owner).

It owns casinos in the Bahamas: Freeport, Grand Bahama; and England (through a 67% split in Blue Chip Casinos, PLC: Dudley and Walsall, Wolver Hampton.

It also owns and runs a pari-mutuel horse racing path in Pompano Beach, Florida.

Its Biloxi casino (but not its hotel) was shattered and its Lake Charles amenities injured by Hurricane Katrina.

Shaped in the 1950s, the corporation became a public company in 1993.

In 2004 Ameristar was one of the first companies to help finance research at the Nevada Cancer organization by making a $500,000 donation.

Resort at Summerlin

The Resort at Summerlin opened in July of 1999. The 50 acre (200,000 m²) resort was intended using a Tuscan/Tropical theme. Golf was a part of the project from the start as it acquired tee times at the neighboring Tournament Players Club course with straight access from the resort.

The hotel and spa is operated by JW Marriott and the casino is owned and operated by Cannery Casino Resorts which is owned by Millennium Management Group.

History
When the scheme first opened, it was not total which helped bring on financial problems that the scheme would not be able to overcome. When Swiss Casinos of America, a company new to casinos, built the scheme, they spent over $270 million to create an elite resort. They may have succeeded in doing that, but it seems that there was no market for this type of scheme in the area. After going from side to side bankruptcy, it was purchased by Hotspur Casinos Nevada for $80 million producing a main loss for the initial investors.

It was first renamed The Regency and in 2002 the option was renamed to The Rampart Casino and the JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort and Spa with two owners operational jointly to operate the resort now casually called The Resort at Summerlin.

JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort and Spa
The hotel provides over 200 rooms with the negligible providing 560 square feet (52 m²) of space. The 40,000 square foot (4,000 m²) spa offers a lot of services and includes a 65,000 square foot (6,000 m²) gathering center.
